ALICANTE
is the capital of tourism, leisure and entertainments at the Costa Blanca beach. This city is considered one of the most popular places for summer vacations not only in Spain, but all over the world, and is very proud by its title of "the touristic phenomenon of Europe". A century ago it was just a small village at the seashore, inhabited by fishermen and smugglers, despite of its rich history. Founded by phoenicians, lately it was ruled by Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs and finally passed to Christians. When you come here first time passing hills, covered with olive trees; quiet villages in Moorish style that look out of time; snow white beads of houses at the shoulders of mountains; roadside towns that haven`t changed since XIX century- Alicante really impresses you...    
You see a fantastic landscape that seems completely irrational: architectural disharmony of colored skyscrapers, cutting blue sky that merges with the waves, and it seems that the town appeared from the bottom of the sea and stopped here, on the white-and-golden sand at the very edge of the sea, in front of green and brown hills.
